An Algorithm of Children’s Low Vision: This session demonstrates the process for a systematic approach to evaluating low vision, prescribing devices, interpreting information and follow-up care. This algorithm provides a road map for comprehensive rehabilitative assessments and care.
Objectives:
1. Provide a systematic approach to addressing the needs of low vision patients based on individualized information
2. Interpret medical information and translating it to functional application
3. Identify devices based on the specific needs of the patient
4. Present albinism as a case study
5. Provide parents with information to advocate for their child
