| The Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA) is the special education law that entitles students with disabilities to a free and appropriate education. Its effect on our society has been far reaching and profound. This session will cover the most important principles parents should know about IDEIA and how the law relates to students with visual impairments. This session will include a discussion on the parents’ role in the development of their child’s IEP. How to work with the school system, what to ask for, following-up on services, and making necessary changes. Learn how to best collaborate to work within the system to address the individual needs of your child. |
